Boulder Swing Social Dance (Lindy Hop, DJed)
Boulder Swing Dance is back in 2023!
Join us for a social dance party from 8-11 pm in Sodal Hall on March 4th as we begin our regular schedule – 1st and 4th Saturdays of the month!
Beginner Lindy Hop lesson before the dance from 7-8 pm for $5!
$10 or $5 for students. We accept cash, card, and Venmo. Masks optional, no proof of vaccination required.
Waltz Revolution
Waltz Revolution, first and third Wednesdays, features mostly waltz to contemporary, engaging, and surprising musical selections by DJ Frank Vernon.
Musical numbers, selected and edited for danceability, include nightclub two-step, foxtrot, swing, and the occasional polka, schottische, cha-cha, chalypso, redowa, hambo, hustle, and more.
All are welcome; no partner or experience necessary.

Lessons: An all-level 6-count Swing in Ballroom, Lindy Hop in Sodal Hall, Swing Line Dance in North Hall (Shim Sham & Mama’s Stew).

The bands generally also play a few dance numbers each evening in other couples-dance styles: cha-cha-cha, waltz, ballads, rumba, and etcetera.
Snacks & Desserts provided. BYOB is fine.
All ages welcome. No partner or dance experience required. Please wear non-marking shoes. Dress to express yourself! Casual is fine, dressing up is also great.

The Avalon Ballroom is Colorado’s premier social dance venue, with a large cushioned oak dance floor, excellent audio, and smooth acoustics. We are known for our welcoming attitude and community spirit.

Wednesday Waltz Etc. is an evening of social couple dancing every 2nd, 4th and 5th Wednesday of the month. Our DJs play a variety of music including waltz, foxtrot, swing, Latin, and more! We welcome dancers of all levels. No partner necessary. Our Dance Ambassadors are here to help you get dancing and enjoy the evening.
Classes:
We offer two simultaneous classes: Beginner waltz lessons and a monthly rotations of different dance styles such as cross-step waltz, foxtrot, Nightclub 2-step, swing, Cha-Cha, and line dances. Classes are free with admission and start at 6:30 pm before the dance but come a few minutes early to make sure you can experience the entire class. No partner necessary as we rotate leads and follows frequently during the class so everyone gets to dance.
